Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to enjoy the games of Esh Games, including people with disabilities. That is why we work to make eshgames.com and its games accessible, in the spirit of Israel's Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013.
Accessibility level
The site has been adapted as far as possible to the requirements of Israeli Standard IS 5568, which is based on the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), at level AA. The adaptation was checked in common browsers on computers and phones.
What we did to make the site accessible
- A clear page structure, with headings in order and marked regions (header, main content, footer).
- Every page declares its language (Hebrew, English or Spanish) and text direction, so that screen readers read it correctly.
- The whole site can be navigated with the keyboard alone, and every element that receives focus is marked with a clear outline.
- A "Skip to content" link at the start of every page, for keyboard and screen-reader users.
- Images that convey information have alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Sufficient colour contrast between text and background.
- The design adapts to every screen size, and you can enlarge the text in the browser without losing content.
- If you have set "reduce motion" on your device, you get the site without animations.
The accessibility menu
Every page on the site has a fixed accessibility button (the blue icon in the corner). The menu lets you:
- Enlarge the text in three levels
- High contrast (white text and yellow links on a black background)
- Grayscale display
- Highlight links and highlight headings
- A simple, readable font
- Larger spacing between lines, words and letters
- Stop animations
- A large mouse cursor
The settings are saved in your browser only, and you can reset them at any time. The menu works with the keyboard and closes with the Esc key. The menu is only an aid: we built the site itself to be accessible without it.
What is not yet fully accessible
We keep improving, but we want to say openly what is not yet perfect:
- Graphic and quick-reaction games. The Hasty Mouse, Sea Trader and Card Strika are built on graphics, animation and quick reactions. Parts of them are not fully accessible to screen readers or to users who find quick reactions difficult.
- Time limits. Bullshit has a time limit for writing and guessing, and it currently cannot be extended. You can play at your own pace in Sea Trader, which has no time limit.
- Third-party content. The ads on the site come from Google, and we do not have full control over their accessibility.
If something in the games is not accessible to you, write to us and we will be glad to help or find an alternative.
