Privacy policy
This policy explains what information is collected when you use eshgames.com and the games on it (including bullshit.eshgames.com and sea.eshgames.com, and their previous addresses), and what it is used for. We try to collect as little as possible.
Information we don't ask for
There is no sign-up on the site, and we don't ask for your full name, phone number, address or payment details.
Information stored on your device
The games store settings and game data in your browser (using local storage), for example a nickname, sound settings and the list of questions you have already seen. This information stays on your device, and you can delete it at any time through your browser settings.
Multiplayer games and high-score tables
When you play in an online room in Bullshit, the nickname you chose and the answers you write during the game pass through Google's Firebase service so that the other players in the room can see them. In Sea Trader, your nickname and score are saved in the high-score table. Don't write identifying details in your nickname or answers.
The champions tables
At the end of every online Bullshit game with at least three players, the nickname, avatar and game results (how many people fell for your lies, how many times you found the truth and more) are saved in the daily, weekly and all-time tables. The tables are visible to everyone, in the game and on this site. The lie that fooled the most people is shown inside the game. Nicknames and lies with rude words or details such as links and phone numbers are not shown.
Don't want to appear? On the champions screen in the game you can untick "Show me in the champion tables". Want us to delete results that were already saved? Write to us.
Visit statistics
We use GoatCounter to know how many people visit each page. The service doesn't use cookies and doesn't track users across sites.
We also use Google Analytics, on the site and in all the games, to understand which games and pages people like, where visitors come from and where they get stuck. Google Analytics uses cookies and a random browser identifier, and collects information such as pages viewed, in-game actions (for example starting a game or opening a room), device type, and approximate location at country and city level. We don't send it names, game answers or identifying details. The information is kept by Google for up to 14 months. Here you can read how Google uses information, and you can block the measurement with Google's browser add-on.
The hosting providers (Cloudflare and Netlify) log ordinary technical data such as IP address and browser type, for operation and security.
Google ads
The site shows ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's previous visits to this site or other sites. Google's advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to different sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ad Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. Here you can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Visitors from Europe, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent before cookies are used for personalised advertising or measurement. Until consent is given, no Google cookies are stored for them.
Children
The games suit the whole family. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Young children should play with an adult, and in Bullshit in a private room with friends and family. A parent who believes a child has given us personal information is welcome to contact us, and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change the policy, we will update the date at the top of the page.
