The Hasty Mouse: a guide to chasing the orange
The Hasty Mouse is a running and quick-reaction game for phones. An orange rolled off a market stall, and the mouse runs after it along the village paths. On the way it collects friends who cheer it on, and dodges obstacles. Collect 20 friends and the mouse catches the orange. The game is currently in Hebrew only, but it is easy to play without reading.
Controls
- Changing lanes: swipe left or right on the screen, or tap the arrow buttons.
- Jumping: tap the screen or the jump button.
- The game is designed for a phone in portrait mode.
The rules
- Collect friends along the path. At 20 friends the mouse catches the orange and keeps running with it, until the first hit.
- You can jump over holes, beach balls and sand buckets.
- You can't jump over the man from the market. You need to move aside to another lane.
- Each hit costs 5 friends. After 3 hits the orange escapes and the game is over.
Tips
- Look ahead. Obstacles appear from far away. If you change lanes early, you won't need to jump at the last moment.
- The market man first. When you see him, change lanes right away, because jumping won't help.
- Don't jump for nothing. An unnecessary jump can land you on the next obstacle.
- Friends are worth lives. Every hit costs 5 friends, so sometimes it's better to give up a friend in a dangerous lane.
The champions board
At the end of the game you can put your score on a daily champions board, which resets every day. Write a name, or roll a funny random name by tapping the dice.
